A piece about addiction and an interplay of circus, theatre and performance.

Shopping, cigarettes, internet, alcohol, gambling, mobile phones, heroin – one can develop an addiction to many substances and activities. But why does someone become addicted? And why are some people more prone to addictions than others? Is it a weakness of character?
The piece wants to understand the topic of addiction in its personal and social dimension. Often, for example, it is a matter of relieving mental pain, experiencing feelings of peace, security, safety, peace and relaxation – the desire to feel connected to the world. But this desire is a basic emotional need that all people share. So what is missing in our society?

Ein Stück über Sucht und ein Zusammenspiel von Zirkus, Theater und Performance.

Einkaufen, Zigaretten, Internet, Alkohol, Glücksspiel, Mobiltelefone, Heroin – eine Sucht kann man nach vielen Substanzen und Aktivitäten entwickeln. Aber warum wird jemand süchtig? Und warum sind manche Menschen anfälliger für Abhängigkeiten als andere? Ist es eine Charakterschwäche?
Das Stück will das Thema Sucht in seiner persönlichen und sozialen Dimension verstehen. Oft geht es bspw. darum, seelische Schmerzen zu lindern, ein Gefühl der Ruhe, der Sicherheit, der Geborgenheit, des Friedens und der Entspannung zu erleben – den Wunsch, sich mit der Welt verbunden zu fühlen. Doch dieser Wunsch ist ein emotionales Grundbedürfnis, das alle Menschen teilen. Was fehlt also in unserer Gesellschaft?
